Why can't I just Google?

La Trobe University

What if I only find an abstract and would like to read the full article?

1. Check the details in the abstract of the article to find out when and in which journal the article has been published. Use Arcada Finna to see if the journal/article is available at the Arcada library. NB: Use the name of the journal as your search phrase. If you did not find the journal this way continue to step 2:

2. If you couldn't find the journal at Arcada you can see if it is available at any other university library (for instance the Helsinki University Library, the Diak library, the Hanken library etc).

Open Finna.fi. Through Finna.fi you find the library catalogues of all Finnish Universities as well as most of the Finnish public libraries. Use the name of the journal as your search phrase. Limit your search to the format: journal. If the journal is found you can visit that university library and read the journal on site. You can also search directly in a specific library catalogue, for instance Diak Finna or Hanken School of Economics Finna.

APA Citation Style

At Arcada, the APA7 citation style is recommended when citing your sources. Learn more:

ChatGPT and other AI-supported tools

According to Arcada's guidelines, ChatGPT and similar AI-supported tools may be used, as long as the student takes responsibility for the fact checking. However, there must always be a reference to the source, as the text is not self-produced. When referring to ChatGPT, you do exactly the same as in APA7. The source reference could, for example, look like this:

OpenAI (2021). ChatGPT [Computer software]. Retrieved from https://openai.com/blog/chat-gpt/

You should also mention in the text itself how you have used AI tools. Note that you should never use generative AI as a source of information - even if the text was processed with an AI tool, you should have another source for the content itself.
